As an “essential retailer”, Claypath Delicatessen has been able to keep the people of Durham supplied with delicious freshly baked bread during lockdown.
Now, with cafes allowed to open again from earlier in July, you can also enjoy coffee, sandwiches and pastries to eat in – but with fewer tables than usual due to social distancing, obviously.
Current opening hours are 11am to 4pm on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, and 11am to 9pm on Saturdays, when you can fill yourself up with tasty sourdough pizza after 5pm.
From a week today (Monday 20th), however, the deli is going to be having a two-week refurb, so eating in will take a break again. During that time, you’ll still be able to buy your bread from the front of the shop, from 11 to 4, Wednesday to Saturday.
Rory (pictured) and Angie look forward to welcoming you! You can follow the deli’s updates on its Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/claypathdeli/.
In the coming months, we’re showcasing local retailers that we work with as our “cover stars” on Facebook and Twitter, so be sure to apply to get involved in Indie Durham City if you’d like your own chance to feature.
