It’s time for Durham’s monthly Farmers’ and Producers’ Market tomorrow (Thursday 20 August), which is an opportune moment to feature our next social media cover star – Julie from the Durham Soap Company!
On the third Thursday of each month, from 9am, Durham’s Market Place becomes home to a bustling outdoor market featuring producers of food, drink and homewares from across the local area. You can see a full list on the Durham Markets website of who’s attending tomorrow.
One of the regular Farmers’ and Producers’ Market traders that local shoppers always look forward to visiting is the Durham Soap Company. We visited owner Julie on her stall when she was there last month, and admired her lovely display of products, including handmade soaps, candles, lip balms and more.
Ideal as a beautiful gift or as a treat for yourself, Julie’s products use pure essential oils, natural oils and butters, and naturally occurring colours, all wrapped in simple, elegant packaging that is 100% biodegradable.
We’re delighted that our Indie Durham City project is able to support and showcase not only the independent businesses that trade from Durham every day, but also the regular outdoor market traders that are just as much a part of the city’s appeal to those who live and visit here.
If you haven’t expressed interest already, fill in the online form for your own chance to get marketing and mentoring support from the Indie Durham City project, funded by City of Durham Parish Council – and the opportunity to be a potential future cover star!
