We’re back to Durham Market Hall for our latest Indie Durham City cover star, where you’re always assured of a warm welcome and exceptional product knowledge from Lisa, Lara and the team at Market Cheese & Deli!
Opened at the height of the pandemic in June 2020, the business has gone on to establish itself as the go-to place for our city’s specialist cheese lovers. And with the stall’s recently installed new signage – created by another local indie, Tiny Acorn – it’s easier to find than ever!
Market Cheese & Deli offers the widest selection of cheeses you could possibly wish for, including many from our own region.
Delicious-sounding North East names like Northumberland Nettle, Elsdon Goat and Doddington Hotspur are among the local flavours recently featured on the shop’s Facebook page as “Cheese of the Day”, but you’ll also find cheeses sourced from places as diverse as Yorkshire, Cornwall, Snowdonia and even further afield.
Of course, every good cheese needs to be served the right way, so it’s just as well that Market Cheese & Deli also stocks a great selection of jams, chutneys, biscuits for cheese and more. There are even beautifully made Market Cheese & Deli wooden chopping boards, which make a perfect and unique gift when combined with some tasty treats.
