Our social media cover star: Jacqueline at Marla Jones Jewellery

Created and curated by owner Jacqueline Lamb, Marla Jones Jewellery showcases unique, designer jewellery from all around the world.

After our last two cover star pictures featured some of Durham’s newest arrivals – luxury clothing brand Freya Lillie and gift shop Malin & Mac – our final one of 2020 is celebrating a business that has been delighting the city’s shoppers since 2013.

Anyone who’s visited Durham’s wonderful Market Hall will have come across Marla Jones Jewellery, which occupies a prominent corner spot between Print-it Stitch-it and The Record Shed.

Created and curated by owner Jacqueline Lamb, Marla Jones Jewellery showcases unique, designer jewellery from all around the world, including many one-off pieces.

The list of featured designers is always changing, and jewellery brands that you can find instore include Azuni of London, Tianguis Jackson, Tutti & Co from North Shields, Aviv Jewellery handmade in Israel, and Paula Bolton pearls.

Don’t assume that designer brands has to mean designer prices, though – Jacqueline’s shop includes beautiful pieces at a wide range of price points. If you can’t make it into the Market Hall in person, a selection of the most popular items is even available to buy, for local delivery, via Durham Markets’ online shop.

Deliveries take place within a five-mile radius of the Market Hall every Tuesday and Saturday, using Zmove’s e-bikes and electric cars, and you can combine purchases from a wide range of Market Hall traders into one order, with a single £5 delivery charge.

With Christmas now just a week away, there’s still time to pick up something lovely from Marla Jones, with the Market Hall open on Sundays throughout December to give you extra time to safely do your shopping.

Call in and you’ll be sure of a warm welcome from Jacqueline, who can help you choose the perfect sparkly – and distinctive – gift.

Many of the latest arrivals feature on Marla Jones’ social media, so be sure to subscribe to the latest updates on Facebook and Instagram.
