Indie Durham City is an initiative funded by the City of Durham Parish Council, so is entirely separate from Durham Business Improvement District Company (Durham BID), which is funded via a 1.5% levy on business rate payers within the BID area.
The BID and the Parish Council also have different boundaries, though Durham city centre falls within both.
